Between 1978 and 1995, the United States was terrorized by bombs being mailed to mainly Universities and Airlines. Because of these targets, the FBI labelled the terrorist the “Unabomber”. In all, 16 bombs were attributed to the Unabomber that killed 3 people and injured 23. On April 3, 1996, the FBI arrested Theodore John Kaczynski in a small cabin in Montana after his brother recognized his writing style in his manifesto published by The Washington Post.

Ted Kaczynski was without a doubt brilliant before he turned to a life off the grid. He enrolled at Harvard University at age 16 and graduated four years later with a degree in Mathematics. By age 25, he became the youngest assistant professor to teach at UC Berkeley. While there, he lived in a small back house located at 2628 Regent St. In June of 1969, Ted suddenly quit his role at UC Berkeley without reason and moved to his parent’s home in Illinois.
