About This Location:

In a tragedy that shocked Hollywood, legendary director Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Singer Reiner, were found dead in their Brentwood home on the afternoon of December 14, 2025. The couple was discovered by their daughter, Romy, who fled the residence and called for help after finding her father in the master bedroom. Paramedics soon confirmed that both Rob, 78, and Michele, 70, had died from multiple sharp force injuries.

The investigation immediately focused on their 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner. Nick had a well-documented history of mental health struggles and addiction, which he and his father had explored in the 2015 semi-autobiographical film Being Charlie. Reports surfaced that the night before the murders, the family had attended a holiday party where Nick and Rob were seen in a heated argument. Nick was apprehended near the USC campus later that night still covered in his parents’ blood. He was ultimately charged with two counts of first-degree murder with special circumstances and is currently awaiting trial.

While Nick has pleaded not guilty, the case has highlighted a devastating intersection of fame, family, and long-standing personal struggles. As the legal proceedings continue, the entertainment industry continues to mourn the loss of a creative powerhouse and his lifelong partner, whose deaths left an unimaginable void in the lives of their surviving children and colleagues.
