About This Location:

Chad Daybell was a graduate of Bringham Young University in Utah who married his wife Tammy in 1990. In 2004, Daybell published a series of fictional doomsday books that centered around religious beliefs that he claimed to have discovered. While at a doomsday convention in Arizona, he was introduced to Lori Vallow, a married mother of five, two of whom were her husband's from a previous marriage and one who was an adopted grand-nephew. Lori Vallow was a fan of Daybell's books and belief systems, and soon the pair began a secret relationship. Daybell claimed that he and Vallow had lived multiple lifetimes together, and had been married in their previous lifetimes. The pair also believed that the end of the world was imminent, and appeared together on several podcast sharing their beliefs.

In February of 2011, Lori Vallow's husband, Charles, filed for divorce, citing that he feared for his life and that she had stolen money and his car from him. On July 11, 2019, Lori's brother Brian Cox shot and killed Charles Vallow, citing self defense after Vallow hit him with a baseball bat after he confronted Vallow about abusing Lori.

On September 8, 2019, Lori Vallow and her brother Alex Cox brought Vallow's sixteen year old daughter Tylee and her seven year old adopted grand-nephew J.J. Vallow to Yellowstone National Park. This was the last time Tylee was ever seen alive. On September 23, J.J. was last seen on a doorbell video playing with a friend in the park. The next day, Lori called J.J.'s school and informed them that they would be withdrawing him from classes.

On October 9, 2019, Chad Daybell's wife of almost 30 years, Tammy, reported that she was shot at while in her driveway, but was not hit. The police were unable to identify a suspect in the shooting. 10 days later on October 19, Tammy was found dead in her bedroom of apparently natural causes, but no autopsy was performed at the time.

On November 5, 2019, just 2 weeks after Tammy died, Lori Vallow and Chad Daybell married in Hawaii. They told guests that Tylee had died several years earlier and that Lori had no other children who were minors. J.J.'s biological grandmother pressured police to do a wellness check at Lori Vallow's Idaho home, and Vallow claimed that J.J. was living in Arizona with family. That night, Lori Vallow fled Idaho and went to Hawaii with her new husband and refused to cooperate with police regarding reports that J.J. and Tylee were missing.

On February 20, 2020, Lori Vallow was arrested in Hawaii and extradited back to Idaho on charges related to child abandonment. On June 9, 2020, Police discovered the remains of Tylee and J.J. buried on Chad Daybell's property and booked him into custody as well. As of May 2021, both Lori Vallow and Chad Daybell are being charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder in the deaths of Tylee and J.J.
